Now that Tumblr has HOPEFULLY eliminated Tumblarity, I’ve started to notice that the posts on my dashboard have begun to be more interesting.
There aren’t as many reblogs and more original posts.

After several weeks of parsing through your feedback and making adjustments, the new Dashboard nav is up!
Just two things to note:
- To fix the issue with unnecessary unread counts on blogs you’re already following, we now only show unread counts for private blogs.
- We’re about to totally overhaul the Directory, along with the Activity page and Tumblarity which power it. In preparation, we’ve taken both of these pages offline while we make changes. More soon!

Last year there were The Tumblr Awards for 2008, but I didn’t see it happen again this year. Whatever. Here are my awards for 2009. It’s based on the people I follow and their posts.
1. Best original posts: stand-by-me
2. Best Music selection: kevinrobotica
3. Best Video selection: jakeandamir
4. Best Photo selection: kari-shma
5. Best “Photo-specific” selection: sky-blue-sky
These next “awards” involve more than just posting the best of something.
1. Most Posts per day: colinh
2. Most Hilarious Tumblog: fuckyeahpokememe
3. Most developed Tumblog: bfound
4. Most photos of themselves: anthonytheterrible
5. Most creative Tumblogger: karenabad
Lastly, these “awards” are just based on personal preference:
1. Tumblogger who I’d like to meet one day: stand-by-me & exhalesglassshards
2. Geographically closest Tumbloggers: emilykuenzi & andreasjp
3. Geographically farthest Tumbloggers: qisto & kari-shma
4. Longest Friends on Tumblr: breefield & justkevin

Okay, it took me a good while to figure this all out with all the bribery going on.

I forgot today was my 2 year Tumblr anniversary. GO ME!

I get the idea behind enabling this feature. You can now share private Tumblog with friends and family without having them join tumblr and creating a private group.
What I would liked to see in the future:
There are just some posts I’d like to keep private between friends, and some posts where it can just be seen but not liked or reblogged.
I know there’s already a method do have posts seen just on your dashboard and not on your blog, but that require some code work using the {TagsAsClasses} feature, but that’s not something everyone can do. Plus it doesn’t prevent likes or reblogs.
In conclusion, Tumblr Staff, consider these upgrades. It will make artists like myself happy.

evrt:
I just submitted a suggestion to Tumblr for a feature I have long been awaiting. I wish they would seriously consider this.
For example, say someone does a photo post of their personal photography and links the photo back to their site. Currently anyone is free to reblog that, change any text they might have written, and change the link also.
How about an option to lock the post, with either of the following:
A: Lock the entire post, and it cannot be reblogged.
B: Allow the ability to lock certain parts of the post. Fore example on a photo post, you could individually lock the photo, the text, and the link. This could be done with a simple check box next to those sections.
Good way of utilizing Tumblr both as a blogging platform and portfolio. Instead of being a dick like me and disabling Tumblr Controls. :P

This week I changed some stuff on my Tumblr.
Also, I updated the the links for my Free Tumblr Themes (not from Theme Garden). The updates takes advantage of the “Appearance Tab” and now you can connect to 3rd Party sites more easily without looking at the code.
Keep in mind, when the Springfield Theme asks for the Flickr User ID, it doesn’t want your username. It’s a specific ID Flickr uses to categorize between sets, collections, and Photostreams. It looks a little goofy like this: 249444331@N03

I added a special button.
